Feeding Directions Purina® Hydration Hay™ ORIGINAL Horse Hay Blocks can be fed dry or soaked in water. Soaking directions: Place one 2-lb Purina® Hydration Hay™ ORIGINAL Horse Hay Block in a large bucket. Add a minimum of 5 quarts of water. Allow product to absorb water prior to feeding (approximately 10 minutes). To facilitate more uniform absorption, flip the hay block halfway through soaking time. Additional mixing by hand may further accelerate water absorption. Designed to replace a portion or all of the forage in a horse’s diet. Replace forage on a 1:1 ratio. Each 2 lbs of dry hay can be replaced with one 2-lb dry Purina® Hydration Hay™ ORIGINAL Horse Hay Block. If replacing all forage in a horse’s diet, be sure to feed at a minimum rate of 1.0 to 1.2% of body weight (10-12 lbs/ 5-6 blocks for a 1,000 lb horse) with 2.0% of body weight preferred.
